How to Become a Member
Membership is by application and is for anyone who shares our common love of boating and has passed our public boating courses,  Squadron Boating Course , Boat Smart or equivalent *, and who is interested in advancing the 3 objetives of the organization:
  • the education of members
  • participation in civic programs, and 
  • the creation of an atmosphere of friendship and camaraderie among fellow members.
 
Active members must be at least 18 years of age; there are no age considerations for family members.
If you are interested in joining San Juan Power Squadron, you may contact L/C Ricardo Negron Judice, SJPS Membership Chairman, to proceed with your written registration by calling 787-579-0505
 
* USPS Educational Requirements may be satisfied by:
  • Succesfully completing any USPS University seminal series
  • Passing the final examination for any NASBLA approved basic boating education course including Puerto Rico D.R.N.A approved course.
  • Graduation from:
                -U.S Naval Academy
                -U.S Coast Guard Academy
                -U.S Merchant Marine Academy, Deck Officer License.
  • Succesfull completion of the following courses:
                     -Holders of U.S. Coast Guard 6 Pack Licenses and above.
                     -USCG Aux - Boating Skills & Seamanship or Sailing &  
                       Seamanship Courses
                     -American Sailing Assn. - (ASA) Basic Keelboat Sailing    
                      Course (Proctored Exam Course only)
                     -US Sailing - Basic Keelboat Certification Course
                     -US Sailing - Keelboat Instructor Course
                     -US Sailing - Small Boat Instructor Course
