How to Become a Member
Membership is by application and is for anyone who shares our common love of boating and has passed our public boating courses / Squadron Boating Course , Boat Smart or equivalent *, and who is interested in advancing the 3 objetives of the organization:

  • the education of members

  • participation in civic programs, and 

  • the creation of an atmosphere of friendship and camaraderie among fellow members.
 
Active members must be at least 18 years of age; there are no age considerations for family members.
* USPS Educational Requirements may be satisfied by:
  • Succesfully completing any USPS University seminar series

  • Passing the final examination for any NASBLA approved basic boating education course including Puerto Rico D.R.N.A approved course.
  • Graduation from:
               
                - U.S Naval Academy

                - U.S Coast Guard Academy

                - U.S Merchant Marine Academy, Deck Officer License.

  • Succesfull completion of the following courses:
                     
                - Holders of U.S. Coast Guard 6 Pack Licenses and above.
                     
                - USCG Aux - Boating Skills & Seamanship or Sailing &  
                                       Seamanship Courses
                     
                - American Sailing Assn. - (ASA) Basic Keelboat Sailing    
                                                        Course (Proctored Exam Course only)
                     
                - US Sailing - Basic Keelboat Certification Course
                     
                - US Sailing - Keelboat Instructor Course
                     
                - US Sailing - Small Boat Instructor Course
