Who is San Juan Power Squadron

San Juan Power Squadron, a unit of the United States Power Squadrons, was founded in 1962 as a non-profit educational organization dedicated to making boating safer and more enjoyable, by teaching classes in seamanship, navigation and related subjects. Our members are boating families who contributes to their communities by promoting safe boating through education.

San Juan Power Squadron has over 50 years offering the most complete course in Puerto Rico (Law 430, safety equipment, nautical charts, knots, etc.). Among our resources are experienced captains, past commanders and experts in safe navigation. At each table our participants have a "proctor" (educational assistant) assigned to help with doubts, concepts and knots that we must all master.

We provide 3 safety boating courses a year to the public and have educated over 35,000 participants with the knowledge to carry safely on the waters in over 5 decades of service to the boating community. We are located in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Successful completion of the USPS boating course meets the educational and boating operation requirements for Puerto Rico as required by law 430 of the Puerto Rico Department of Natural Resources.
